Raj Nidimoru was born in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, into a Telugu family on 4 August 1975. His friend DK, or the other half, Krishna Dasarkothapalli, was born in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. They met while studying at SVU College of Engineering. After graduation, they went to the United States to pursue software engineering. However, after returning from there, they started making films together.
